Jenkins appeals to logos by making use of logical sense to consider that what is going is a no brainer it is just that a particular individual thinks it is too “expensive”. In paragraph five he states “Obama pledged when he came into office to rid the nuclear arsenals. He has failed, and instead constantly updated his own.” To convey how short he has fallen in fulfilling his promises but we are still blinded even though it is as clear as it will ever be. Nonetheless if done well, this method is very effective, which he does in various parts. His use of evidence is excellent. The usage of “Nagasaki” after explaining the Hiroshima dropping adds to the complexity of the matter and serves as the sufficient backup to make it reasonable enough. Nonetheless, he provides us with data not that ancient such as the “Cold war”. This major event should still be present in Obamas head, so using it to justify his argument is essential. Facts about other types of bombings and their uselessness continue to build which make up the key points in grabbing the reader’s attention. These well known facts are a few that logically support his claim that it is a real problem that action in the right direction must be taken as soon as possible. The great detail and numbers create a strong appeal to logos and grabs the readers by the collar in order to really make it known that this subject is worth talking
