Rhetorical Analysis Of You Have Got To Find What You Love By Steve Jobs

CEO of Apple and of Pixar Animation Studios, Steve Jobs in his speech, “You’ve got to find what you love,”(2005) argues that you always need to follow your dreams and don't lose faith in it. He supports his claim with irony and very encouraging tone by first very ironic situations that he went through and then with a tone that will push anyone towards their goal.
To being with, Jobs uses a lot of irony when making his point. As he goes through his life, so many ironic situations occurred. He “decided to drop out and trust that It would all work out.” Usually if somebody drops out of college, they don't make it very far. As his life goes on, it ironically all falls into place. If he had never dropped out, “the Mac would have never had multiple typeface fonts.” This one man dropping out, changed the world. Wow. Another crazy situation that happened was that it all started in a “garage” when he “was 20.” It went from that, to a “$2 billion company with over 4,000 employees.” Who would have thought that this big company came right out of a garage. He states many of the quotes that got him through his life. By using your “gut, destiny, life, karma and whatever you have to trust in something,” Job says. Even if you have no idea where your life is going, trust that it will all work out. “Don’t lose faith” and “don't settle,” were also statements that he used to encourage others. Just as stated before, always believe something good is going to happen in the end and work at it like it’s the last chance you'll have to make it happen. Even if there is no way to go, “there is no reason not to follow your heart.” Using these encouraging words, Jobs proves his argument in order to show the reader that anything is possible. Always follow your dreams even if it looks like you're approaching a dead
