The Fall
“Human Beings are not designed to be alone. None of God’s creatures are,” Chely Wright. This quote means that you are never alone. This is a lesson I learned on a cool summer night in 2013.
It was the summer before 4th grade. I was sleeping over at my friend Maddie’s house just a third of a mile down the street from mine. After dinner, we decided to go for a ride on scooters around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful night, cool and quiet. We had stopped at a small spot where we hung out many times. Surrounded by the corn we sat and talked till the sun started setting.

We sat there for a couple more minutes and then the Doctor came in with an oral surgeon. As they came in the oral surgeon said,” Hi, I'm Dr.Stith,” he then started doing something off to the side. He turned around with a needle, “ I’m just going to give you a little numbing shot,” he said. Reluctantly I opened my mouth. That needle seemed as though it was 10 feet long. After he administered the shots I could barely feel my mouth. The doctors and nurses did their work stitching and putting my tooth back in.I just closed my eyes. I tried to not think about it but that was like not thinking about running at a cross country meet.
“All done,” Dr.Stith announced about an hour later,” Now in about a half an hour the numbing shots I gave you are going to wear off. I’m going to prescribe a stronger version of ibuprofen that you can pick up a Walgreens okay.”
“ Thank you,” my parents answered. We walked out to the car and started home. Driving home I leaned my head against the window and closed my eyes finally able to rest.
This experience has caused many things, root canals, scars and finding of an extra tooth. The most important thing that it caused was me to remember that it wasn’t always just me and my friends. Before this I never thought about all the other people in their houses, sitting outside, or driving by. Now I realize that someone is always going to be there to help because after all God’s creatures aren’t meant to be

Without even thinking about it I responded, “yes, I found out I was sick a month ago”, he looked at me with a face of confusion and said “but you don’t look sick, you have hair and I don’t see any boo-boo’s on you.” At that exact moment I realized the 35-pound little boy sitting next to me had more bravery and strength than anyone I have ever met. Not only will I never feel sorry for myself again, but I will pray for those in need. I believe God sent that little boy into my hospital room. I believe God wanted me to now that I have the ability to touch someone’s life, just like the little boy did to…
