Rhetorical Analysis Of Trump's By Peter Singer

Trump has issued new executive orders that have shocked not only Americans, but also people from all over the world. Basically what these orders are to do is that they are intended to ban Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States. Even those who have been living in America for quite a while are to be deported to their countries. What is more devastating is that students who had their student visas from their home countries to come study in the USA are no more welcomed here and have to face these new abnormal orders. I think the new executive order is definitely intended to discriminate against Muslims because there were no terrorist attacks performed from people who are from these 7 countries in the U.S.
In the article “Trump’s

Singer has used a lot of resources in his article in order to prove his credibility. For example, he used the study conducted by Alex Nowrasteh, the president of the National Iranian American Council, to inform his audience that there is no terrorist attacks have happened in the United States by people from any of these seven countries. Also, Singer has used another resource by Nowrasteh in the last paragraph to prove that this ban will never affect the US security. In addition, the reason why Singer has used all of these resources is to reinforce the fact that trump is not the Americans best choice for …show more content…
After the ban on these 7 countries, people who come from these banned countries feel that they are not welcomed here in the United Sates anymore, they feel like they are being despised and hated. Moreover, these innocent refuges who are actually the victims of these massacres that happen at their home countries crossed the world to seek shelter in the land of diversity and freedom only to find out that they will be looked down at and thought about as terrorists or hateful judgmental people. In short, the ban rule will leave a pessimistic impact on these people who are from these 7 countries.
The author was surely right that this ban has prevented many people from leaving the US because the research shows that all of the universities have warned their students who are from these 7 countries to not leave the U.S. The students who are prevented from leaving the country will have a very hard time here. First, that is going to affect their performance in school. Also, they will not be able to see their families or friends until they graduate from school, which might be a long period of time. All in all, these students are being blamed and criticized for something they never

The Rise of the Rhetorical Presidency written by James W. Ceaser, Glen E. Thurow, Jeffrey K. Tulis and Joseph M. Bessette, discussed various changes the electoral branch has experienced in the last 81 years and its overall effect on American politics. The key point this work touches on is “Popular or mass rhetoric, which presidents once employed only, rarely now serves as one of their principal tools in attempting to govern the nation”. The author's use various examples claiming the shift began at the beginning of 1900 and by 1913 there was a new rhetoric employed by the presidents to come. At the beginning of this work the focus is on the effects on the modern presidency, framers intent for the presidency, how the rhetorical presidency developed,…

The Jimmy V speech at the 19.. Espy awards is one of the most rhetorical appeal driven speech I have ever heard. As jimmy V walked off the stage after his twelve minuet speech he concluded by saying, “Cancer can take away all my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are going to carry on forever.”…

“The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words” (Philip K. Dick, 1980). We humans can be easily manipulated by words of someone. Words can be structured to target a certain audience, where the language used is varied depending on where it is being presented. We can see this in political speeches, where certain words are used with the specific purpose to give value to the audience.…

Shortly after the 2016 election, President Trump signed an executive order on January 27 suspending refugee admissions from seven countries for 90 days. These countries included Iran, Iraq (which was later removed momentarily), Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Immediately following the executive order, many district courts appealed the order for they felt it was unconstitutional. States have argued that the executive order has violated, The Immigration and Neutrality Acts and was motivated by a discriminatory animus (McCarthy). Not only has the order produced many appeals, it has also created a large amount of protests outside airports and major cities including the Capital (Newman).…

The article of my interest concerns the unconstitutional nature of the Executive Order that President Trump enacted in January. Earlier this semester, we discussed how the travel ban issued by Executive Order violates aspects of the constitutional law. The article by Kerry Abrams, professor of law at the University of Virginia School of Law, succinctly explains how the Executive order violates constitutional law. Firstly, the order violates the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment by restricting individuals from seven predominantly Muslim countries for their religion and nationality.…

Liberals are already in shock. There is a level of incredulity that far surpasses their puzzlement at the election and re-election of GW and Cheney. Moderate liberals, who believe that socioeconomic change happens gradually and with compromise, are already wondering what has happened to the entire federal government. Also, Democrats (not all of whom are "Liberals") tend to believe that all people should be treated with respect. In fact, they pretty much assume that's obvious.…

Making America Great Again In his first ten days in office, the concept of "Trump's America" has shown itself already to be significantly different from any President prior and potentially any future, and his inauguration speech acted as a key method of setting the stage for this. Every four years on January 20th at 12pm is officially the beginning of a new presidency. The article, ”Despite the president’s pandering, white nationalists are still losing”, shows that our president, Donald Trump, . is not really doing anything to help stop these violent rallies that are going around in the world. There are many people who are not against what the president thinks about other ethnicities. White supremacists are saying hateful things to other people and are causing them to get mad. These then end up in violent fights and rallies.…

“(We have) more to do for the young woman in East St. Louis, and thousands more like her, who has the grades, has the drive, has the will, but doesn’t have the money to go to college (Obama, para 6).” Interestingly, he follows this statement with an attempt to dissatisfy one of the commonplace arguments against liberal policies. Mr. Obama says that these people do not ‘expect that government will solve all of their problems,’ but that they are willing to work hard in order to achieve their dreams. This seems to solidify Obama’s ethos with the audience, especially when combined with the specific scenarios that he uses to exemplify the need for his policies. The middle section of the speech is dedicated to the 2004 Presidential Election.…

For example, Trump refers to the Government Accountability Office to prove that there were three million arrests in the year 2011 that were attached to the alien population of America, all including murders, beatings and rapes (Trump 2). His referral to an official organization betters his background knowledge on immigration in the United States, which shows his audience that he understands what his words mean. Donald Trump also uses statistics to back up his information, such as explaining how today, nearly 40 percent of black teenagers and 30 percent of Hispanic teenagers are unemployed, which proves that America’s immigration policies have ruined the middle class, even though they are the major backbone of America itself. Opposing Trump’s speech, the New York Times article also provides strong, credible sources to provide their own…

The slogan that propelled Donald Trump into his influence across the nation, “make America great again,” shows that Trump sees America has fallen downhill and has hopes to improve it. Trump wants to see this country go back to the prosperous country it once was, but he does not know how to filter his words according to most, which makes him seem frightening. Despite Clinton’s accusation about the risk of Donald Trump, his clever use of scare tactics gives voters a sense of security because of his ideas concerning immigration and terrorism. According to Molly Ball, author of “Donald Trump and the Politics of Fear,” Donald Trump uses fear to his advantage in hopes of winning the presidential election.…

The Democratic National Committee invited Barack Obama to give the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic Convention. This news came as a surprise as Obama had not yet gained national attention, and was not an obvious choice when compared to other candidates. After his inspiring speech however, Obama became well known throughout America which was good news for John Kerry, as Obama’s speech was intended to persuade voters to support Kerry as president. Obama uses rhetorical devices such as climax in structure, epistrophe, and metonymy to persuade skeptical voters to vote for John Kerry as their next president. Obama makes his speech more convincing by using climax to split his speech into multiple sections; the first section is used…
