The film I reviewed for my rhetorical analysis was the documentary Thirteenth (13th). This documentary uses many methods to show the viewer how the oppression of African Americans has evolved overtime since slavery. Thirteenth was directed by Ava Duvermay, who is a well-known director that produced other renowned films such as Selma. The documentary was produced by Ava DuVermay, Howard Barish, and Spencer Averick. This film does a great job of using notable speakers, pictures and facts to explain to the viewers how African Americans are still being oppressed today.
