Ansary uses Pathos a lot throughout his article. Some ways that he uses Pathos in his article is at the beginning when Ansary states how he heard on the radio that America wanted to get back at Afghanistan. The way that the radio station put getting back at them was “bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age.” He heard similar things like this through many radio stations and news stations. Ansary said that he has friends and family that live there and he doesn't want the to get hurt or be killed. Ansary states “Maybe the bombs would get some of those disabled orphans:” This is sad thinking how heartless people are. It is even more sad that these words are coming for our very own. Since Ansary is an Afghan American, he has family that live in Afghanistan. He said that he doesn't like the Taliban or Osama bin Laden, but he's a Afghan and he doesn't want anything to happen to his family and friends. Even though the Taliban killed thousands of men, women, and children that day their is no reason that we should retaliate and kill a bunch of innocent people to.
