Social inequality is an immense problem our country has been battling for many years and there have been countless laws passed by congress to help the minority groups. One of the most famous of these laws, is the Fourteenth Amendment—which granted citizenship to all and equal protection under the law. We as a country strive for the perfect form of total equality, through the contribution of valorous human beings. Corporations, for example, contribute to the eradication of unfair treatment of minorities, either because they strongly believe in them or because they want to increase their revenue or popularity. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same and not everyone represents or fights for their cause in the same manner. Whatever the reason may be, some corporations tend to mishandle their message and portray it incorrectly. Pepsi recently released a very controversial commercial starring Kendall Jenner, a supermodel and celebrity. As a result, the minority groups were very …show more content…
She didn’t actually hope her dad knew the power of Pepsi she was simply being sarcastic in order to keep the reader engaged through a harmless joke. She also displayed bitterness through her statement because there was a sense of disbelief and disappointment on how a human being could be treated so poorly by police because of the color of his skin and because he or she didn’t hand the officer a Pepsi. The photo complimented the sarcastic and bitter tones she used by providing the reader with an emotion heavy image of her father being detained by police because he had no Pepsi on him. Mrs. King did a great job with her tone and picture, to get her point across that the commercial was throwing dirt at her father and minorities by implying that what they do or did has and had very little value and purpose.
