The author, Miranda Dever used rhetoric quite a few times in the article. The first rhetoric she used was, “He has drunk the feminist Kool-Aid. Can you imagine if he said “men must be respected?” She straightway questioned the PM’s statement to catch the attention of readers and express her disapproval of the policy. By questioning the fairness of the PM’s statement, she has allowed the audience to set their mind to thinking that the announcement is biased. She also questioned Rosie Batty’s tragic story, “But how did the murder of a little boy by his mentally ill, drug-taking father become all about respecting women?” Miranda believes men is not the cause of domestic violence but the underlying influences such as drugs, mental illness etc.
