The dramatic growth in obesity among Americans is becoming a hot topic today in conversation. Obesity is caused by many factors: three of the biggest factors are not getting in your daily doses of recommended healthy foods, not exercising enough, and having large portion sizes of food. They think of foods that contain high amounts of fat and sugars. Even though there are many items on their menus that do contain high amounts of fats and sugars, they all are working on making their foods healthier to help end obesity. One thing McDonalds is doing is adding healthy choices to their menu. In this article David Freeman provokes reason that McDonalds is doing its part on helping to end obesity by adding healthy choices. When people see this, they now know that they can go to McDonalds and eat healthy for cheap, instead of eating fatty foods for cheap. Another thing he points out is that McDonalds is doing its part in also lowering its calories count for the foods its makes. Here David Freeman shows us that there are people who want to see healthier changes to foods to stop obesity. The good thing is with the publics emotions of wanting healthier foods on menus of restaurants, the government and food companies will listen.
