Rhetorical Analysis Of Donald Trump's Speech

With the upcoming presidential election, politicians are starting to make their presidential announcements. Donald Trump is one of the few politicians’ who have made their presidential announcement. Trump is determined to become the next President of the United States. Trump’s perseverance to become President of the United States can be seen and heard throughout his entire announcement video. Trump’s speech has been carefully planned and outlined to persuade the audience to vote for him. To help his credibility Trump has his daughter introduce him and make a speech about him saying all these accomplishments he has had. Though this helps his credibility and character in the beginning, halfway through his speech he makes rude comments and jabs about other politicians running for President. “How are these people gonna lead us? How are we gonna go back and make it great again? We can’t. They don’t have a clue…” Though his credibility seems to have been compromised, he connects to the audience on an emotional bases well throughout his speech. The audience Trump is targeting is the citizens of the United States who are eighteen years of age and older that are registered to vote. All through the speech, Trump demonstrates the need to “Make America Great Again.” Also in his speech, Trump covers many topics, such as the national debt, the job market, deals and much more that the citizens of the United States want to hear his opinion on.
