Overall, Niman makes a well supported claim that water bottles are maybe not the best thing for our planet. He makes great points that are well supported and we even see a lot of illustrations on his part. These illustrations allow the readers to really grasp what he is saying and connect more with the topic at hand. The most effective thing that Niman does in this text is the use of examples and appeals. Niman builds up the FIJI water brand and is supportive of it’s design and satisfaction upon drinking. He then brings up a unnatural aspect about this great bottle of water. He states this aspect is “something that threatens the very existence of the tropical paradise depicted on the bottle.” This totally shuts down the idea of the supposed “paradise in a bottle”. The authors wording here brings pathos appeals into action and forces the reader to feel bad that this bottling company isnt all that good at what it does. This use of pathos is a great tactic of foreshadow before Niman dives into the details talking about the repreecussions of using these water
