Effective arguments must be both persuasive and engaging as its goal is to ultimately, convince. The key elements that are utilised to create an effective argument is based on the 3 forms of rhetoric within Aristotle 's Rhetorical Triangle Model; these being logos, pathos and ethos. Together they form an argument that accommodates to all senses of reasoning and feeling of an audience, thus generating a persuasive argument. Logos refers to the mind and its sense of reasoning ie. logic. When creating an argument it is paramount to provide a strong foundation of credible evidence that reinforces an argument that is clear and concise. Understanding is an important aspect of persuasion as the audience/reader must first understand the arguments point of view to then be swayed, therefore clarity and a logical flow of ideas and evidence which appeals to the audiences logos is essential in generating an effective argument.
