Without these facts the entire speech would be pure speculation and no one wants to hear about theories, they want to know the truth. Moving through the speech he blends ethos and pathos to use logic and credibility to help the listener understand his thought about changing what we build and manufacture. He says “ This is the Bedington Zero Energy development in London, which is one of the greenest buildings in the world. It’s a fabulous place. We are now able to build buildings that generate all their own electricity, that recycle much of their water, that are much more comfortable than standard buildings and etc, and overtime this will of course cost less”(4) By using those tactics, Steffen is able to get his point across easily. He shows that human life will not sustain much longer if we don’t change the lives we are living, and make a difference, whether that’s recycling, not using so many vital non- renewable resources or whatever it may be. By restating the thesis it then shows the summary you are supposed to get out of the speech and backs up how good of a speech you have given. Steffen is a great speaker and he definitely got his point across and he will keep making great speeches like this to help humans understand more ideas than we do
