Rhetorical Analysis Draft The MD, DC, And Virginia’s Public Safety Campaign is about being a safe driver, reducing injuries and death around the region, increasing awareness about safety enforcement, and being street smart. I feel that the intended audience is all of the MD, DC, and Virginia’s area. This campaign is trying to convince drivers to promote better safety while driving. This ad wants to decrease the average number of 8 people being struck by moving vehicles a day in the metropolitan area, because they want to promote better safety and save lives. You can find the ads on sides of busses and at bus stops. This is a persuasive ad because it provides statistics, pathos, logos, and ethos about pedestrians getting struck by cars due to problem’s that can be fixed easily. The campaign talks about pathos by reaching out to the audiences emotions using images. The emotions the images show are empathy and sadness. The importance’s of showing these images is to show the audience what can actually happen while not being a safe driver. By having …show more content…
Providing the quotes or slogans on the images really supports the evidence & also gives a clear statement of what they are supporting. Quotes such as “Pedestrians Don’t Come with Airbags” I feel make people actually stop and think after reading. By providing these quotes on the images I feel that they might get instilled into a person mind while driving. Then also they started an event called “Street Smart Safety Zone” near higher risk areas throughout the region, which helped get the importance of the reasoning out to the community. In doing so they handed out pamphlets which had facts of deaths due to accidents and not being a safe driver, & they also handed out reflective zipper pulls so cars could see them while walking at night.
