In the first place, athletes in other sports need endorsement money to be able to compete internationally (Griffin). However, if they let some athletes make endorsement deals, they should allow them all too. In the second place, NCAA’s rules on endorsement say athletes are too “amateur” to handle the business (Griffin). However, students who can make endorsement deals should be put in a class for education in business to learn how to manage money. Finally, college athletes can not have their names on the back of their jerseys (Meshefejian). Players, in particular, should be able to represent their family and make money off of the jerseys the program sells with their name on it.
