Causes of the Revolutionary War The Revolutionary War was fueled by a number of factors, many of which didn’t include economic factors. The first of which was the high tensions between the colonist and British. The most infamous example of this would be the Boston Massacre of 1770. This event began with overexcited colonists protesting and harassing Redcoats with snowballs. Whether by accident or order, Redcoats fired upon the otherwise unarmed crowd, leading to the several deaths and wounding several others.
