Why We May Have Not Landed on The Moon and Why We May Have

December 1968 was a glorious time for the world. Apollo 8 was the first manned mission to enter orbit of the moon. In the following years many other moon missions have occurred. Various groups and individuals have made claims since the mid-1970s, that NASA knowingly misled the public into believing lunar landings have occurred, by manufacturing, tampering with, or destroying evidence including photos, telemetry tapes, radio and TV transmissions, Moon rock samples, and even some key eye witnesses. Surveys show that approximately 20% of Americans think that the Apollo missions were a hoax in order to win the space race by a landslide.

One of the most remarkable feats of space exploration was the landing of a man on the Moon. On July 16, 1969, NASA launched its famous Saturn V rocket into orbit for a journey across the void of space to Earth’s only natural satellite. A little over a hundred hours after launch, it accomplished what many people considered impossible just a few years ago—a man from Earth walked on the lunar surface. The crew collected rock samples and performed numerous experiments, in the process greatly expanding the databases of knowledge on the Moon…

Despite the hordes of mechanical problems faced in the aftermath of the disaster, both the astronauts and Mission Control were determined to overcome them all. With remarkable brilliance, the scientists at NASA came up with ingenious strategies that saved the lives of the Apollo 13 crew. This story inspires me because it is a tale of people who believed that even the most dire of situations can be conquered if you can work hard and find a creative solution. NASA saw it the same way. Although Apollo 13 never landed on the moon, NASA’s intelligence and nerve was tested by this trial--and they passed the test with flying colors.…

Katie Couric spoke on the Today Show in 2001, that a mere 7 percent of Americans don’t believe the moon landing occurred. it’s believed that the whole event was staged somewhere in the desert terrain of Nevada. Fans of shows like “The x files” believe the truth is hidden away, likely concealed inside Area 51's classified hangars, buildings that are confirmable by sites like Google Earth even though the government doesn’t agree to acknowledge them Area 51…

The Space Race was a competition between the Soviet Union and the United States for the greatest achievements in space exploration. But on July 16, 1969, the US sent mission Apollo 11 into space, and they were the first to land and step foot on the moon. The US couldn't have faked this, but others argue otherwise. In my opinion, the US moon landing was completely real and would be hard to fake, and there are many deductions to prove so.…

Fewer than a hundred years ago, the moon was still untouched by man and was one of the greatest mysteries to mankind. In 1961, John F. Kennedy established his ambitious goal to put an American man on the moon by the end of the decade. During the newfound Space Age, the United States and the Soviet Union were committed to a demanding competition to see who made it to the moon first; this was later proclaimed the “space race”. To America’s excitement, on July 20, 1969, American Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. Although, recent polls in the Engineering & Technology British magazine, approximately 25% say they don’t believe anyone has ever landed on the moon.…

Apollo 11 discovered that the moon is lifeless; containing no living organisms, fossils, or native organic compounds (SNASM). Extensive research and testing revealed no proof for life, past or present, to be found in the lunar samples. Because of the idea of aliens inhabiting the lunar land, a plaque was attached to the leg of the lunar landing vehicle that read “ HERE MEN FROM THE PLANET EARTH FIRST STEP FOOT UPON THE MOON JULY 1969 A.D. WE CAME IN PEACE FOR ALL MANKIND” (SNASM). This plaque was signed by former president Richard Nixon along with all three astronauts that took part in the lunar landing mission.…

The one reason that the waving flag, when you look at the photo of Neil on the moon, the flag does know that it 's moving and that is a little odd since there is no atmosphere out there, that is a huge head scratcher just because if they were really on the moon why is it moving. Another reason why I agree with it being a conspiracy is because the claim has it that if they landed on the moon that the crater would be so much deeper and larger than it really is. In the photo, it is not really even visible or ever look like it was moved. Of the 10 reasons that I saw, reading into them really makes me think that maybe the moon landing never really happened. The claims that are being said really make sense, especially if you look at the photos being shown; you see exactly what thousands of others see.…

We Should Not Go Back to the Moon The first time America stepped foot on the moon was on July 20th, 1969, however, the last time Americans stepped foot on the moon is was in 1972. Charles Krauthammer, in the Washington Post, from 2009, argues the we should go back to the moon. Krauthammer states that we go back to the moon “for the wonder and glory of it” and because of the moon's “immense possibilities” (57). Krauthammer fails to mention a lot of vital information that could happen when we go back to the moon like, where will the money come from, the risks of going to the moon, and lastly what benefit would come from going to a place that we have already spent time on.…
