Peter and the Starcatcher is an exhilarating and adventurous story that tells the tale of the well known free-spirited boy, Peter Pan’s backstory. Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the 2004 novel written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, which was fashioned into a play by Rick Elice. I had an exceptional experience of seeing the play on March 29, at 9:30, adapted by director, Kerry Bishop on the A.B Lucas Secondary School stage. The first act primarily gave a background on how those townsfolk settled on Oklahoma Territory. It also illustrated Curly’s pursuit of Laurey, and Ado Annie’s love triangle. The second act was the true execution of everybody’s motives. Curly defeats Jud and wins Laurey over and Will Parker finally earns back $50 to take Ado Annie as his wife. I usually just skip songs in any movie not matter what it is. The songs in this play, however, were just too catchy and nice to skip! I even got one of the songs stuck in my head. The 2013 adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” was an okay. The plot was similar to the book but with some changes, sound design was okay camera work was good, props were well-designed and costumes were flashy at times but fit somewhat well with the movie.
