While if it was someone else in his place, such as someone raised in a small city, they would have acknowledged the situation in a different manner. The man reacted to the situation like the way the people he was surrounded by would do. While reading the essay, his actions made me question why did he not just talk to the man who was crying in the elevator? Personally, I believe that this is the problem in the society that we live in today. When a man grows up in an environment where he feels that he is alienated by the “big city thing”, which everyone else follows, he may also feel that the people around him believe that everything revolves around them, and they do not realize that their actions could impact others that are around them as well. Every man seems to catch the bad but ignore the good. So, why live in a big city if you are going to change for the worse? I believe that there is nothing wrong with living inside of a big city, however, until we prohibit the “big city” actions to change the way we view the world, we will start to appreciate every little thing that the “big city” has to offer
