Death valley

We scour the abandon the hot, muggy trailer thirsty. I feel so dead inside I could feel the sweat on my body. We find a big log to bust open the door. 3 2 1 we breach the door we found some expired chips and 3 warm bottles of water. Jenny is helping Gina bathe while I look for supplies “Hey I found warm waters in the first of 4 trailers,”
I yell. I keep searching and I found the best thing ever, gas. I run out yelling “ Girls look I found a full bucket of gas!” The girls are shocked but also amazed

“No way it has to be old,” said Gina.

“Here help me look in the other trailers,” I say.

The girls help me and by the end of the day we found a hose with hot water that tasted nasty a fridge and freezer with old fruits that smelt really bad and yogurt and in the freezer a lot of ice cubes. We also found a lot of stale,

“Man it has been a whole day since we have been lost,” I shout.

“I wonder if we'll ever be found,” Gina said.

“We will we just have to hope for the best,” I say positively.

There is still a trailer we didn't open because it was so late. This was the nicest camper it had at least 3 beds and we weren't even in it yet. We break through and we were all in shock. It had a working sink and bathroom 4 comfortable beds and air conditioning. Better yet the food was packed with food that wasn't old soup, cereal, milk, fruits you name it.

“I think I know where i'm sleeping tonight,” Jenny said.

“I think we all know where we are sleeping tonight,” Me and Gina say laughing.

Over all of our laughing and giggling I hear a noise. It sounds like a car I pull open the shades and see a big truck with 2 adults and 2 kids. We run out of the camper and the family shocked.

“What are you girls doing in our camper?” The muscular man says.

“We are very very sorry but we have been lost out here for a day and a half now and we needed food” I said to the

Over summer I went with some friends to the Johnson Shut-ins in Missouri. It was the first time I went camping in years and it was one of the coolest trips I’ve ever been on. It started with the drive which was about two and a half hours through isolated roads which eventually got kind of creepy because we were in the middle of nowhere, every house had confederate flags posted, and we were running out of gas. We finally found the place and found our campground and we wanted to find out what the shut-ins were exactly. It was on the other side of the campground…

My friends and I have been having a hard week and we wanted to just relax so I suggested to them my lake house house. They wanted a little bit more rustic feel to camping but none of us really had any actual camping gear so we just opted for the lake house. We got all the essentials for the weekend: bug repellent, snacks, a radio, and a friendly little card game to take our minds off the world back at home. Everything was going smooth until it hit about six-ish, that’s when everything just seemed to get a little bit more stressful. When, at the store, we got everything a girl could ask for and then some, we got brownies, chips, stuff to make milkshakes, ect.…

Jack Davis is an Australian playwright and poet. He was of the Aboriginal Noongar people, and an Indigenous rights campaigner. Although he composed many of his poems while working as a stockman in Gascoyne in his twenties, his first volume of poetry was not published until 1970. Jack Davis’s poems such as the poem I’m going to analyse are associated with indigenous Australian experiences. This poem is about an indigenous person who is taken away where she can’t do the things that she wishes to do as she is running out of time, this is seen when Davis writes, Let go of my hand/…

The Hunting Camp From 2006 until 2010 my father, uncle, and I were all members of a hunting club. Although we were there to hunt, it was likely the smallest aspect of the trip. We spent more time around a campfire than we did in any tree stand. The camp, for me anyways, was broken into three major areas: the hunting grounds, the campgrounds, and the camper itself.…

The Trip to the Grocery Store I haven’t seen him in weeks or maybe even months, I thought as I glared across the small distance between where I was standing and my dad’s car. With my One Direction CD clutched in my hands, I started to close the distance by walking towards his car. I opened the door and slipped in, and then he started to drive to the grocery store. In The Death King poems Sexton uses repetition to show how unhappy she is with the life she is living. Sexton spends an entire stanza talking about all the things dying will take her away from and each line starts with “fear like”. All of the fears she lists are overwhelmingly unpleasant like “dung stuffed up my nose” and “flies tremble in my ear”. All of these sensory experiences are ones that are relentless and impossible to ignore. All of these overwhelming smells and sounds are representative of the relentless sadness that she is feeling.…
