Sinek introduced the concept by discussing the Marines and the fact that they would do anything for one another. They believe in doing good for others and have fulfillment in putting themselves at risk for the wellbeing of others. Although he uses this as an example he reassures us that the feeling of fulfillment is not limited to the Marines. It can be extended to us and in our daily living. According to Sinek, the feeling of fulfillment comes from doing something good for another person. The feeling of fulfillment comes when we exert our time and energy to do something good for another person. By doing so, we inspire others to do the same.

When we help them realize their value, it increases the influence we have on them. We are able to become a better leader when we influence people. I can add value to people by recognizing their strengths and their talents as individuals.
The third pillar is to study leadership and become experts on the subject. We should read to build our knowledge and use it as a resource. We would not be able to be leaders if I did not know anything about leaders. As he mentioned earlier in the video, we can lift the lid when we learn to be better leaders.
The fourth pillar is to practice leadership. We should apply the knowledge we have built and practice those principles. I would not become a better leader by simply learning the principle, I will need to put those principles to use. This concept is similar to learning how to swim. I can read about how to swim, but I will only become a better swimmer if I practice swimming. When we practice, it builds our confidence.
The fifth pillar is I intentionally grow by having a growth environment. We can do this by being around others who are better than us. We should constantly be challenged and learn from others. When we are around people who are more skilled, we learn from them and therefore, we
