And this child was so conditioned by her environment that she thought she was engaging in play” (C-SPAN). The public will began to absorb the perception that white men buy children overseas for sex trade offs, and sadly because from my own knowledge of understanding in some country due to poverty, it has not yet banned child slavery. Not only will American society judge these white men traveling abroad, but people in other countries will have respond automatically in the reasoning of their travel. Additionally, another landmark narrative was found within the same article. It has mentioned that 70 percent of children were sold into sex-trafficking lived in foster care (Girl Talk HQ). Kutcher adds to this by …show more content…
Here, in foster homes, society, politics, and advocates can focus to prevent further exploitations of children. Moreover, public eyes are cold and harsh. Prejudice, stereotyping, discrimination and hatred is what we have consumed, especially in today’s modern world. Foster care children, especially girls will be considered to be victims of sex-trafficking, compared to an ordinary girl walking down the street. Vulnerable, scared, and desperate for attention will be labeled upon these girls. In another comparison to raped victims shamed by critics by saying, “they were asking for it”

From the perspective of the advocacy groups the children should not be exposed to such cruel happenings from a young age (ACU, 2014, section. 4.1.2). Their dignity is taken from them when they arrive in such detention centres, and even more of their dignity is taken from them when they get physically, emotionally, and sexually abused in a place where they thought they would be protected. These groups aim to restore their human dignity and remove the children from these situations. These groups help their human dignity, by giving them hope for a better…

The human trafficking industry is an illegal multimillion dollar money making platform, which thousands upon thousands of women, children and men are exposed to every day. I was introduced to this form of slavery while reading the novel Traffiked, by Sophie Hayes; the true story of how the author herself was forced into the world of trafficking and was a victim of forced prostitution, to make money for a man whom she loved and thought loved her too. Throughout this report I will be discussing the different forms of human trafficking; specifically the sex slave industry, the process and experiences sex slaves endure, what organizations have been set up to assist and aid victims and survivors of trafficking and the impact of sex trafficking on…

Children are being manipulated and abused in appalling ways. Yet, no one helps them because they are judged and seen as dirty prostitutes. These girls, these human beings are victims and should be treated as such. Today’s children shape the future and getting stuck in “the life” with no hope of help or rescue keeps them from living up to their full potential. A girl is not going to believe she can amount to anything if she is controlled by a pimp, looked down on and shamed by society, and shut down by a system that is supposed to protect her.…

As a response to the growing crisis of child sex trafficking, one of the main goals of this act was “to prevent and address sex trafficking of children in foster care,” (“Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act”). By amending the Social Security Act, this act requires states to offer assistance and training to identify, document, and offer assistance to any child who has or is at risk of being a victim of sexual exploitation (“Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act”). In hopes of growing the network of foster care families, the act also revitalizes the incentives of foster care (“Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act”). Also paramount to the act is the inclusion of children in their own foster care and/or adoption process. For example, the act allows children aged 14 or older to participate in the development of their case, additional requirements are described for a child’s rights to such things as health and freedom from exploitation, and discharged children of 18 receive copies of identifying material such as birth certificate, Social Security, and medical records (“Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act”).…

Many traditional institutions do not welcome or understand societal change very well, and from those limitations that are set many leaders rise up to create a positive atmosphere between communities worldwide. Obtaining a substantial amount of revenue and a social stance helps a further progression in human rights and creates an international organization that creates awareness on human trafficking and how to terminate this complex issue. In the article, “The Celebritization of Human Trafficking,” it mentions the involvement of celebrities and their strategies to globalize a campaign and promote a cause, “ In the year following the release of its video challenging celebrity “culture makers” to support the cause and exhorting viewers to help secure the capture of Joseph Kony by purchasing posters and bracelets to “raise awareness” of human rights abuses Kony had perpetrated,…

The DOJ issued a warning stating that: “Among children and teens living on the streets in the United States, involvement in commercial sex activity is a problem of epidemic proportion” and claiming that “Child sexual exploitation is the most hidden form of child abuse in the U.S. today.” Yet, it is an epidemic that has gone largely overlooked and untreated. The truth is, there is no way to be sure how many are forced into prostitution every year here in America. The estimated figure is that 15,000 women are trafficked into the U.S. each year, but that the number of American girls trafficked on American streets is 10 to 20 times greater. The most common estimate mentioned by the DOJ and child protection agencies puts the number at around 300,000-but believe it to be closer to 800,000.…

In this film showing young girls’ family on process of getting their daughters to be married off or sell them off to begin prostitution career makes me feel desperate to be there to stop families from selling these girls. Knowing how normal it is for some countries to have young girls starting from age nine years old to start prostitution is sickening and terrifying. I just could not relate myself to them, and understand how they would feel because I have never experienced nor seen it in real life of these situations and I bet it would be much painful than how I imagine their lives would be. During the film, I was just surprised how some mothers are encouraging their daughters to begin prostitution, and even when school teacher was telling her that she can have better future earning more money without selling their bodies. Realizing how some countries have their traditional mindset yet to be broken still when it is 2016 worries me for women’s future…
