When it was my turn to speak with her I asked for a baby since my mom had just recently lost the twins. She looked over at me and did the sign of the cross. We went into the church at the convent and she sat between my mom and me. At one point she took my hand and said “Always remember this, Jesus said: when you help the poor, you do this for me” She took my hand at the last 5 words and touched each of my fingers and repeated “you do this for me.” Back then I did not realize the magnitude of meeting someone so great. Now that I am older it means a lot more to me. The next time my mom was there for “class” one of the nuns came running up to her. She asked my mom “Did you see it? Did you see it?” My mom did not know what she was talking about. The nun had said “she knew what happened to you.” (about losing the twins) The nun took what Mother Teresa had done with us as a blessing. Mother Teresa usually renames certain nuns and she renamed this nun after St. Martin De Porres. He was a Saint from the …show more content…
When my children learn about her in school or hear about her in church. They will have a relatable family story that will tie into what they are learning and it will create a valuable learning experience from this. This story could also teach them about morals. Even though something bad has happened a positive can always be created from a negative. It can give them an optimistic outlook on bleak situations. Even though my mom lost her twin boys, she gained a wonderful experience from working with the nuns and ultimately meeting Mother Teresa. My sister was also another positive outcome of this
