The Negro League was a professional baseball league made for the African Americans who were segregated from playing baseball on the same team as the professional Caucasian baseball players. They not only needed to persuade the African Americans, but also the Caucasians who started the segregation. They needed the color barrier in sports to be broken. Case Study of a DJ: James Brown By Alvin Wilson Funky Drummer: There is a section where James Brown, the drummer and the sax come together in a beautiful and interesting manner. This portion of the song is from 3:38-3:56. It has that infectious riff. This portion when looped to create a chorus would surely get the crowd going incessantly. The beginning of the track which had the drummer hitting the rims (rim shot) with the electric guitar intro and the organ joining in later would make for a great intro to any song.…

The web version includes a wealth of other information: letters Bob sent, audio of Bob answering questions, and an interesting essay by Fuson about how he came to write the story. The first case is about Plessy v Ferguson which is a case that determined whether or not racial segregation is constitutional under the separate but equal doctrine. The second case is about Brown v Board of Education which decided that state laws requiring separate but equal schools violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Both cases had a powerful effect on the precedents that we now have in today's justice system. Plessy v Ferguson established the doctrine of “Separate but Equal” and Brown v Board of Education concluded that separate public schools for blacks and whites was deemed unconstitutional. Without Plessy v Ferguson and Brown v Board of Education, black and white students would likely still be separated to this day under constitutional laws.…

Ferguson followed by Oliver Brown v.s Board of Education. The Plessy v.s Ferguson case first created the idea of separate but equal in 1896, but in 1954 that changed, in a good way due to the popular case known as Brown v.s Board of education. These cases Plessy v.s Ferguson and Brown v.s Board of education both severely impacted segregation in America, the reason why we are not splitting up bus seats and schools based on race. First, 1892 the change started with a court decision “separate but equal from…

America's current battle with racism is an unfortunate example of when history "repeats itself." The issues regarding racial inequality were confronted in the Civil War, then again during the Reconstruction era. Despite the efforts of both these events, racial conflicts still exist today. The Civil war is taught in schools to be the conflict that ended with the abolishment of slavery. While this marked a turning point in American history, racist belief systems did not disappear.…
