The protagonists are certainly not put in the same situations in a quick comparison but this does not prevent them from sharing some important character traits. First, Greene and Clark are both described as quite weak (mentally) human beings and they certainly do not have many friends to make them feel socially engaged and protected. Where this differs is the reason they are alone, and therefore, the reason why they are bullied. On one side, Clark is described as being very small, slow, and weak, not only excluding him from the other students at his school but also making him a bullying victim. On the other side, Greene’s story is a completely different scenario. He is in a very highly ranked family, having both his brother and his father also highly ranked at his institution. This nobility surely does limit his chances of being socially active with friends and increase his chances of being a bullying target. Another very noticeable difference between both protagonists is there reaction towards the bullying coming from their classmates. With his small size, Clark constantly and unsuccessfully tries to avoid being a target of Aubrey but does not seek revenge as he knows he will not be capable of it. This is proven by one of his values he clearly states at the beginning of the story saying that he “believed devoutly
