I believe that this added to the plot and made for a better play. However, if there is one character I would say I dislike the most, it would be Gertrude. I believe I dislike Gertrude the most simply because Shakespeare leaves so unanswered questions about her. Was she cheating on her husband before his death? Did she participate in the murder? Why did she drink the wine? With all of these unanswered questions my mind fills in the gaps. Due to her quick marriage to Claudius my mind choses to fill in the gaps with all of the negatives. Do you feel today 's audience would enjoy seeing a production of this play? If so, why? If not, why? I believe that audiences would enjoy seeing a production of this play. First of all there is a lot of drama in Hamlet. It is almost like a soap opera. Almost all of the characters experience tragedy in the play. In addition to the drama Hamlet is beautifully written. Once the language of the play has been taken in and understood it is hard not to appreciate its beauty. However, one of the potential reasons I can see for someone not enjoying the play would be the length.
