Once seeing these acts of horror, the officers in charge of the camp were instantly lined up and shot on the spot. These officers received no trial or legal repercussions at all; they were just shot on the spot. The holocaust created and perpetuated one of the most interesting ethical dilemmas that has been thought about and pondered since WW2. Should guards of camps like these be charged and responsible for the actions that were committed, or were they just following orders like any other military operation? Not only did the United States armies get revenge but the prisoners of the camps got their revenge as well. From cheating spouses being killed to countries going to war it is a common phenomenon. Any person that has emotions has felt a compelling sense to go out and get revenge to those that have wronged them. Whether they act upon it is up to them and their moral sense, but nearly everyone has gone out of their way to get it in some point in their lives. Since I am human I have felt and ultimately gotten revenge on people that I have felt have wronged me. For instance, within my family, my sister have always fought and disagreed politically and morally on a variety of topics. When I was younger my sister would take her overly complicated feelings onto me by lashing out. One clear instance of “revenge best served cold” is after a fight I waited for a couple of weeks then I would steal her stuffed animals or toys, back in the younger years of my life, and pretend like I had no idea where they went. Additionally, when my sister and my mother got into intense arguments I would always plan to get back at my sister later in the weeks. Revenge also happens outside of the family and inside the school setting aswell with friends. One particular instance is when I discovered that a close friend of mine had been talking very poorly about me and creating lies in order to try to get my other friends to never talk to me. Discovering this, I completely cut her off not talking to her for months on end. This hurt
