Fortunato's Revenge

Revenge is not always the best way to go. But when you have wine just sitting around, it might just be the way to escape your troubled crimes or troubled past. Fortunato was just a innocent wine taster. With not a clue to what his fate will be at the end of the tunnel it is very uncertain With Montresor just waiting for his time to strike to get his revenge what he vowed to get. With just one organized plan, a promise to himself, and Fortunato’s trust, it is easy for Montresor to get away with murder. All these thoughts running wild in my head of the wrong doing’s that had been done to me in the past. Montresor got away with the murder he had planned on getting. He was organized and he knew what he had to do to complete the perfect murder. Or yet so he thought. In the beginning of the text Montresor already has Fortunato down in the catacombs. “In a moment he had reached the end of the alcove, and finding himself stopped by the rock wall, stood stupidly, at a loss.” (Poe, 71). Like the one saying, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Fortunato a guy who see’s the good he trusts Montresor because once they were friends. Yet Montresor does not trust him but he gets Fortunato to trust him. “ We will go back. Your health is precious.” (Poe, 69). Montresor makes Fortunato feel safe that were he can trust he will make him feel better and have the cough be gone. I can infer that Montresor is very sneaky but is also very good at convincing people. Montresor acts concerned about Fortunato to make it like he cares about him. “ ‘ How long have you had that cough?’ ” In this citation Montresor seems to care about the wellbeing and health of Fortunato. When people seem to care about you, you start to believe that they will protect you and will not hurt
