Revenge, every teenager seems to get caught up in an act of revenge at some point through high school. Drama causes’ all sorts of fights with friends and relationships. Many of us are insecure and haven’t matured yet and we choose to do something revengeful towards someone we dislike. Throughout the book Great Expectations by Charles Dickens we notice several acts of Revenge coming from Miss Havisham. Her actions are not directly acted towards Compeyson, but directly acted towards others that didn't do anything wrong. In the beginning of the book Pip is a guinea pig, almost like an experiment to Miss Havisham. To see how Estella; a cold hearted girl, treats Pip. Miss Havisham has raised Estella to treat men badly. “Well. You can break his heart.” (Dickens 59) Estella is taught to lead on Pip and Infatuate him into liking her. Since Compeyson broke her heart, Miss Havisham wants revenge to all men, she assumes that all men are the same and wants Estella to do the “dirty work” for her. through the book Pip is madly attracted …show more content…
We go through breakups with people we love and we get hurt. We want our old friends or exes to feel the pain we felt when we lost them. To do so we treat them badly. We talk behind their backs. or become friends with their enemies. and date people that they hate to just add to the fire and keep it burning. We hope they will feel bad about losing us or betrayed. For example my ‘This I Believe Essay’ on getting back up when an ex of mine broke up with me. My form of revenge was making myself healthier and working out more.
