It was a gloomy Monday morning when Brett woke up early due to thunder that shook the house. He dragged himself out of bed and headed down the stairs to the attic. Once he reached the kitchen, he realized his father was there already, waiting for Brett to make him breakfast. Mr. Jackson walked over and hit him across the face, leaving a red mark.
“What took you so long” yelled Mr. Jackson. “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll make it up to you” Brett said in a soft voice.
“You better, you’ve been slacking with your chores lately. I’m tempted to take you out of Football. You better get to work” Mr. Jackson said in an angry tone. This was a normal morning for Brett. Ever since his mother passed away, nothing has been the same. His father became a drunk, which left Brett to take care of his younger siblings, Jack and Mia. An hour later, he leaves and walks 2 miles to school. His life is even worse when he gets there. He has a crush on this girl name Amelia, but she has a boyfriend named Alex. Her boyfriend found out about this little crush Brett has, and later walked towards Brett with an evil grin.
“So, I heard you have a little crush on my girl” said Jack.
“Yeah, so what? It’s not like I’m going to steal her from you” retorted Brett. Jack takes a swing and his fist smashes into Brett’s face, giving him a

He was drunk again. Brett sat there in shock, not believing that it didn’t work. Brett grabbed the keypad once again to test it out. He decided to try and go back to when his mother died so he could say goodbye. He never got so say goodbye to his mother before she died because he didn’t know she was going to die. So he went on his way to the hospital his mother died in and entered through the doors.
