This is Steve. It has been ten years since Pete Van Horn has passed away. Now, I have insomnia, similar to Les; now I, too, look up after the stars to calm myself down so that I my sleep. I have had many sleepless nights to reflect on that one fateful evening that changed our lives. I sleep, only to find that I am in a lucid dream, but I am right there, watching the entire day in an hour, screaming, sobbing, and calling out to the past. I even hear his voice calling out to me. Therefore, I have finally come to a conclusion on what happened that night. I still remember what happened that day; I was polishing my car in front of my house while Don watched me. I heard the spacecraft whoosh over my house, and we all thought that it was a meteor. Myra called out to me, saying everything in the house had stopped. The neighborhood gathered, and Pete left while I tried to start my car. When it didn’t work, Charlie and I were about to go downtown, when Tommy stopped us. He talked to me, but then as we were talking, we saw and heard Les trying to start his car. However, when he stepped away, it started! I thought that he was a friend at first! Then, soon after, I thought that he was acting strange, and it concerned me, as he was a fellow neighbor. However, when he started to blame me, I started to reach my breaking point. However, once he killed Pete, a fellow, innocent neighbor, I couldn’t stand it anymore. He said it was a gag, so I said,” Does this look like a gag to you?” He still argue though, so I proved my point by saying, “Charlie, there’s a dead man on the sidewalk, and you killed him! Now I notice something, as when I tried to stop the fight, I was protecting Charlie as well; however, he and I are only mutual friends now, as I still can’t forgive him for some
