Reuven Malter uses many characteristics in Chaim Potok’s The Chosen. However, the traits that stand out the most do not happen to appear as common traits. These traits happen to be forgiveness, obedience, and faithfulness. Forgiveness means to decide to lose anger at a being, even in extreme situations. Obedience means respecting and listening. Faithfulness happens to be the process of hope and following through. Reuven Malter displays important character traits in The Chosen. First, Reuven demonstrates forgiveness in The Chosen.
