Argumentative Essay: Should People Return To College?

Colleges are well known institutions that have been around since the early 1600’s. A college is a school that offers courses that can lead a person to obtain a degree or certificate in a specific area or field. Although colleges have been around for such a long time, recently more people are choosing to go to college than ever before. Usually the decision to attend college is one that is made immediately after high school. Typically there are three major options that a person may face after graduating; people can either start a family, get a job, or continue their learning experience on into college. Many people who select one of the first two options are now discovering that they can return to college later on if they desire and receive many benefits. People return to college later in life for many reasons. One reason people return to college later in life is to further their education. People who return to college later on often times have had many years go by since they last attended high school or they had their last learning experience. As people grow older they tend to discover more about themselves and their personality. Oftentimes older adults find out that things that once made them happy when they were younger may no longer make them happy as they grow older. Or perhaps these adults always had an idea about what would make them happy but they were too afraid to follow through with these feelings. By these adults returning to college they are allowed to follow their dreams and potentially embark on a career path that better suits their personality. Some people tend to change career paths multiple times in their lives and by attending college these people are given more options of career choices than they were previously given without a college
