No matter what the offense every prisoner would have to start off in isolation before they go to their appropriate security level housing, the time there in isolation depends on their crime and how they act while in isolation. For example a bank robber would have to spend more time in isolation than some who was arrested for drug possession. The idea behind this is that I show the prisoner the worst the prison has to offer that way when i then put him in a different security level he realizes that he has something to lose. Prisoners that break prison rules are also put into isolation for a certain amount of time before they are sent back to their original housing level or placed in a new one. Isolation is also for the inmates that have proven that they are a liability to themselves and others. These cells are see through unbreakable glass, they line the perimeter of a room and have a guard station in the middle, and have guards patrolling and looking into the cells in timed cycles. The privileges that an isolated inmate gets is very limited. 1 hour of recreation alone in a small room with limited supplies. Each cells hold 2 prisoners and there are more cells per pod. The pods are still heavily monitored but they are let out once throughout the day for 45 minutes to talk and socialize with the people in their pod on top of meal time. They also have 1 hour of recreation time every day to work out or play basketball with each other. These prisoners also get in class taught skills once a week rather than counseling. The skills they learn are anything from plumbing to electrical work that they can use to get a job after they leave prison.
