Retirement is a euphoric occupation, where the elderly receive the right of not working and have the opportunity to explore new regions because of their labors earlier in life. There is a difference, however, between retirement by choice and retirement by force. The government is making an attempt to enforce a “mandatory retirement age,” or a universal age where all working people are required to relieve themselves of their passions to create room for younger workers. There are an assortment of things wrong with compelling someone to leave something that they love. If companies let go of experienced workers, then catastrophe stems and everything goes into pandemonium. For example, every Sunday, I go into church and control the cameras as well as the display board to make sure that the service runs efficiently. Certain days, I am not capable of attending and another less experienced worker is forced to attempt to control everything, and nothing runs smoothly. It isn’t his lack of knowledge or intellect that causes the equipment to be faulty, but his lack of experience with working with them. At the end of the day, what the government is bidding to accomplish is stripping from someone the pleasure of doing what they love. We all possess distinct likes and ambitions, some of us are athletes, some serve our country on the frontlines, and some battle medical complications here at home. We all know what we are proficient at in our discrete ways, and visualize having that taken away from you after so long. If someone is physically capable and wants to remain doing something that they find joy in doing, then nobody has the right to tell them not to do it. For example, Albert Einstein was sixty years of age when he used his influence and intellect to indirectly begin the “Manhattan Project.” The Manhattan Project was a series of experiments into nuclear weaponry that eventually led to the United States forming the atomic bomb, which they used to win World War 2. This exemplifies that love for a certain occupation cannot be limited by age. If one is capable of being productive, even in old age, then companies should let workers be just that and support
