Peter was just about to go into his local Kohl's store. It seemed like a fairly normal day, but something terrible was about to happen. As Peter walked through the parking lot, he noticed a baby wailing in a car. The windows were rolled up, and the baby was already starting to turn red. Sweat rolled down the helpless infant's face as she shook with exhaustion.

For a moment, Peter just stared at the baby in shock. Miami was known for having hot summers, so he knew that the parent must be somewhere nearby. Peter wanted for several minutes to see if the parent would show up. When no one came, he knew that he had to take action quickly.
Peter dashed to a work truck nearby and borrowed a jack. He used it to pry open the front window and pull out the overheated baby. After rescuing the baby, Peter called the police. Within minutes, the police had arrived.
As the police pulled into the parking lot, the mother walked out of the store. She was furious to see Peter next to her damaged window. It seemed like she cared more about the state of her car than she did about her baby.
This would have been the end of the story, but a surprising turn of events changed everything. Peter never heard back about the baby and the mother, but he knew that the police had questioned her about child abuse. After all of the chaos of the day, Peter forgot to return the car jack to the work
