From a young age I have aspired to work with children and over the years I have developed a strong passion to pursue a career in primary education. Growing up in a large and close family I have always been surrounded by young children. So, each day, I am a role model and a mentor. Giving young people advice and watching them go from strength to strength gives me a feeling of success as I am helping them to grow into responsible individuals with a strong sense of character.
I am a very creative person, my teachers often commented on my artistic skills; encouraging me to carry it on after GCSE, so in my spare time I like to draw and expand my creative abilities. Outside of school I dance, this is a hobby that I have maintained for 14 years. Dancing allows me to develop my team work skills as well as teach the younger dancers. My time management skills are impeccable as I have a part time job at Primark in Newcastle, this has improved my organisation skills as it is my responsibility to undertake the commute to and from work. Being a retail assistant means that I have to have personality to provide good customer service. I am polite and friendly, which is shown

I want to consider being a teacher because, I hope to inspire children with no hope. Wililam Ayers stated in To Teach, “teacher’s often work in difficult situations, under impossible conditions. They teach youngsters who are compelled by law to attend school, many of whom have no need motivation or desire to be there”. Most children, especially the African American children appear to be lost in a system that does not really care if they pass or fail.
