In a country where the people have the right to vote whom they would like to choose to be the next president. It allows each person to have the power to speak their mind and make changes if they don’t agree with the government policies. That’s why freedom of speech should not be limited because it intervenes with the beliefs of the people. For example, the final voting polls are coming up between the two nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump; therefore, people are making petitions of each candidate they want to vote for. People are not using the right to free speech out of fear. The people believe by expressing their political opinions it would cause more problems than what we already have. If they do question the government the people believe they would be punished. This is not the case, just because there has been conflict between the presidential debates doesn’t mean they cannot let their voices be heard. Most recently, Donald trump running for president the people is scared to say anything because he has a higher chance to win the election. In that situation if Mr. trump does win the election, the people who were against him have a right to make petitions because of the first amendment freedom of speech.
In conclusion, people in American take pride living in a country that is known as the land of liberty. Yet, freedom of speech would always have controversy among the people. Some are for speaking their minds; while others prefer to just keep it to themselves. But freedom of speech means so much more. It means having the freedom to believe what you choose and to openly state your beliefs. Even if people are against your beliefs and would never accept them.
