The ASU Tempe campus certainly hosts several restaurants, to meet up with the multicultural students in the school, including my humble self who is an international student from Nigeria, and a Yoruba man to be precise, if you ask anyone who is familiar with the tribe where I am from, one thing they’ll tell you for sure is that we are known to have a voracious appetite, and we eat homemade food. With no intent to brag, but as a statement of fact, I do justice to African dishes when I cook, this has given my sense of taste a higher preference for those who can cook a good meal. The decorations such as the chandeliers around, the paintings on the wall, the music playing in the background, the staffs working there are mostly dominated by the middle easterners. When I walked into the café, I passed by a small grocery stand, just in the same aisle, to where the restaurant is, then to the right, I was ushered in with the delicious looking appetizers of different kinds, neatly shelved for any passersby to be tempted enough to place an order for one, I walked up to where the seats were. I was welcomed by a neatly dressed lady who will be in her early 30’s, she has a cute, genuine and welcoming smile, and she asked me to sit wherever I feel comfortable, she has an ascent of someone who is from a foreign country, I could not tell the precise origin of the ascent, and then she introduced herself saying she is from Tunisia, her genuine friendliness truly added good value to the customer relation that makes one feel comfortable and ready to
