On the other hand, he explained that parental demandingness had refer to the parent who control in their child’ behaviour such as the parents will demand their child to be more integrated in the family, demand their child to be more mature and the parents will always supervision their child to make sure their child was behaving in well and proper manners.
Based on these two concepts of responsiveness and demandingness, Baumrind, (1971) (cited in Bibi et al, 2013) had identified three different type pf parenting which are authoritative parenting, authoritarian parenting and permissive parenting. There are a lot of studies that different peoples had done and they came out with the same explanation for the authoritative parenting (see, for example: Berg, 2011; Weiss & Schwarz, 1996; Zupancic, Podlesek, & Kavcic, 2004, cited in Bibi et al, 2013), they defined authoritative parenting is a parent who are having the responsive and demanding at the same time. Result that come out from the studies that did by Abar et al, (2009), Aiyappa and Acharya, (2012) (cited in Bibi et al, 2013), they stated children who live under an authoritative parenting will always have the positive impact on their academic achievement, they will probably score higher marks in their academic. Similarly to the result of study that did by Strage and Brandt (1999) (cited in Bibi et al, 2013), he mentioned children who live with the authoritative parents have more confidence and scores higher in their academic. It is clearly seem that authoritative parenting really help children in their academic. The reason that why authoritative parenting help children success in academic, Steinberg and colleagues, (1992) (cited in Kingsley Nyarko, 2011 ) had come out with the explanation, parents who are more authoritative will be more likely engage and involve in their children study. Authoritative parents will give direct help in their children homework and supporting their study. Authoritative parenting not only has the positive outcome on children’s academic but on the children’s socio-emotional as well. Authoritative parenting help the children to build a good psychosocial and may have the lower level of problems in their behaviour (see, for example, Lamborn et al, 1991, cited in Bibi et al, 2013).
