Not telling her own mother she is married is reinforcing her to become something other that a parent. Because Lady capulet is absent, Juliet is not raised as well as she should have been.
Because Romeo and Juliet’s parents are not present in their lives others fill their positions as parental figures. For Romeo his other father if Friar Lawrence. Romeo is faced with the problem of being in love with Juliet even though they are from feuding families. When he needs to tell someone about this he goes to the church and asks Friar Lawrence, showing that his relationship is not strong enough with his parents, so he must talk to the Friar. After Romeo meets Juliet for the first time at the Capulet’s ball, he goes to Friar lawrence to seek advice in the morning. “Good morrow, father” (3;5;32) Romeo says this when he comes to Friar Lawrence’s to ask for advice. He speaks to the Friar and addresses him as “father” which could be because he is a priest, but because they are so close it can also be interpreted as a father-son relationship.
