Responsibilities To America Essay

Every U.S citizen has rights and responsibilities to America. There are many privileges that every citizen in America has such as the right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness. Citizens have the right to vote in elections, get a fair trial, and run for office. Today, people do not think as much about the responsibilities because of all the rights that citizens have. There are many responsibilities that a U.S citizen has. For example, U.S citizens need to obey the laws, support the Constitution, serve on the jury when asked to, respect the rights of others, pay taxes, and defend the country. Making sure that U.S citizens are following these responsibilities is important because this is how the government can remain stable. For instance, if no one obeyed the laws, many people would be committing crimes. If Americans did not support the Constitution, then the government would be less stable. This is important, so that the law is supported, and that there is more happiness among people in the community. These type of responsibilities are important to America because they make America greater as a whole. When American citizens give back to America, it makes America stronger and a much better place to live in. However, I believe that I have some more additional responsibilities to America. I also believe that I need to try my best everyday for America because of the amazing privileges I have here. Every time that I think about the opportunities I have here compared to other countries, I feel even more privileged. I contemplate how much harder it would be to get an education or get a job in another country. Sometimes, I think that I actually may try to do something better because I think of America.
