I have just finished reading the first book of your ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, even though it was my second time reading it. Throughout the book, I appreciated the definitions of the words along the way, which helped to understand the book. I also admire the excellent description used throughout the series, which really made me visualize the story, and paint a picture in my head. The plot was fast flowing, not dwelling on a certain feature for a long time, which made the book interesting the entire way through.
I really liked the development of the characters for the most part. Violet and Klaus’ problem solving skills was admirable and interesting, although I would have like to see Count Olaf receive more characteristics, other than just his shiny eyes, his monobrow and the tattoo on his left ankle. This would help us to hate him more than we already do and help us to think of him as the malevolent and dastardly monster that he is. It would also lead to Violet and Klaus thinking up different ways to spot Count Olaf out, when he is trying to become the guardian of the three children in order to get the huge fortune that they will receive when they grow up. I believe your excellent descriptive style of writing would be well suited to this genre, and I believe you world be able to think up great crimes, and even greater ways that they are solved. Your plots, which don’t focus on a certain feature for too long, would make for a great book which I and many others would definitely enjoy reading. I would also like you to see you try out writing books which contain mythical and magical features, and I think you would be able to take this sometimes overused feature a long way, and again your descriptive skills would play a major part in
