As an administrator, I would want to meet with teachers, evaluators, and other departmental staff members to see what qualifies students to be referred for services. I feel this is the starting point to this particular problem and I would want to ensure that teachers were not just feeling lost in regards to these particular students so without much effort were sending them to the Intervention Assistance Team (IAT) to help ease the burden of reaching that student. I would also want to do research and talk to individuals to see if perhaps a Response to Intervention (RTI) model was in place or how to implement one within the district so that everything possible was being done for each individual student prior to recommendation for services.
