Response To Group Work

I am writing to inform you that the team believes your contributions towards this project is below par. You gave no insight during the first team discussion, did not attend the follow up meeting, used another member’s work without their consent, and gave excuses for not completing your given assignments. The team strongly believes that you are not fulfilling your duties as a member, and believe that your current attitude reflects that you do not want to help on the project at all. I want to have you do your part in this design project without any member feeling they have been treated unfairly in the assignment of work. I want to inform you of possible solutions for this conflict to be corrected, and would hope that these solutions seem reasonable to you. …show more content…
I believe that this will be the most effective approach because it seems that you cannot complete your research on time, and seems that you are having difficulty in understanding your research. The team will have a discussion with you about your workload so that both sides can be heard of. This way, if you have any belief that you are being mistreated, then you can explain to us why you believe you are being treated unfairly with the assigned workload. Afterwards, we can decide if you think that the workload is too much or if the team believes that you were assigned a fair amount. If both the team and you cannot come to agreeable terms, then we can switch your research topic with another topic that you prefer from the team. The workload can be easier if you can research another topic that you can understand. If no solution can be decided upon then we will need to either discuss of more solutions or refer to professor

In high school, we were constantly being told that we could not work in groups because we would get too loud. In university group work was encouraged so that our professors wouldn't have to do as much marking. During my observations at my CSL there was a lot of group work. Comparing when the students were working on group work to their individual work, the results were polar opposites. The tasks for students was to write down what they knew about 5 sided figures.…

When most of the work on individual parts of the topic was done, one of our group members informed us that he had to withdraw from the course due to personal circumstances. Now the work of four people had to be divided among three of us. Even at that point our group was working hard, despite the numerous assignments in other courses. Another frustration with the assignment hit me when the deadline for submitting the assignment was change to three days earlier right before the date for submission. At that point our group had little to no time to combine all individual parts together, proofread and submit the assignment.…

On November 9th, Erin and I co-facilitated a group discussion around trauma-informed practice as part of our Group Facilitation assignment as second-year nursing students. The process consisted of choosing a peer-reviewed article related to trauma-informed practice, then creating a Facilitation Plan around the article and relevant course theory, and finally facilitating a group discussion. As the next step towards the development of our group facilitation skills, we were assigned to write a critical reflection about the experience of facilitating a group discussion. Through this paper I provided a summary of our group facilitation experience, explored group dynamics, what I perceived as our strengths and challenges, what I have learned from…

At the beginning of the semester, we were assigned a team project. At first, the assignment sounded difficult to me because it was just at the beginning of the semester and I did not know my classmates or the team members assigned to my group. With the help of the teachers I was able to meet and get to know my team members by their names, we exchanged our phone numbers and email address to ease communication. In our first meeting, we were able to select the team leader, come up with the rules to govern the team and also plan the times we were going to be holding the team meeting every week. In our second session, we were able to come up with the project, discuss the project then divided and allotted tasks to each member.…

While working in groups, we will experience changes in group dynamics and processes.…

There are many viable solutions for this annoying problem that we all face. First thing we can do is make a schedule. Knowing when your assignments are due, really lets you see how much time it will take to complete it and if you can do it in one sitting. And if it 's not possible to complete in one day, then break it up into individual sessions. If you have a really long paper that is due next week, due a little bit each day and that way it won 't seem as long or stressful.…
