As I begin to lay in bed that late Saturday night, I feel a sensation in my body that is like nothing I ever felt before. Fear is slowly creeping up on me like an unwanted stalker invading my privacy. Fear and I have a severed relationship. We never directly communicate and when it feels like it needs attention, fear acts as a stranger breaking into the place that feels most like home: my own body. What was I afraid of? Absolutely nothing. So how can I be afraid of nothing but still be affected by fear? Well, humans as well as other animals have a natural response to moments where they feel like they are in danger, we know this as our “fight or flight” response.
