Great reply and I couldn’t agree more! Experiencing failure, assessing why we failed, learning from it, and moving forward, makes failure a gift. It’s certainly not the easiest gift to receive since experience is a hard teacher because it gives the test prior to the lesson (Law, n.d.). That said I believe the best way to set others up for success is to provide them with support, guidance, and the opportunity to fail. Clearly, we can’t allow those failures to be catastrophic, however it’s vital that we allow friends, family, and colleagues the room to make mistakes and help them grow as a result.
