The play, The Diary of Anne Frank shows a theme that causes the readers to reflect less on the main character Anne herself and highlights the effect her words had on others. The theme of this play is to not focus on the negative side of a situation and focus on the positive. Anne shows this at the end of Act ll, lines 1372 and 1373 when she writes her last words in her journal. She writes "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." By saying this, Anne is showing the theme by displaying how after everything that has happened, she still believes people are good at heart. The people Anne is talking about are the Nazis and some relatives in her family, and how she believes they can be good people if they tried.
