Aim:
The aim of the activity the group performed was to measure and record the repertory rate after 2 minutes of exercise for 5 minutes recording the breathes every minute.
Introduction:
The respiratory system responds to the demand of exercise by making us breathe faster as the muscles in our body require more energy when put under more physical exercise. When humans breathe the body converts oxygen in the air into energy, which is then transported to the muscles by red blood cells, which allows us to exercise for a longer period of time. The respiratory system recovers after exercise by making us continue to breathe heavily. We do this because when the human body is put under physical exercise the body has oxygen debt which means that there is an oxygen shortage in the body and to get …show more content…
The duration of physical exercise becomes longer the respiration rate will increase.
2. As the time after physical exercise becomes longer the respiration rate will decrease.
Variables:
Independent Variable Dependant Variable
Duration of Physical exercise Respiration rate
Time after physical exercise Respiration rate
Identify what is a fair test?
A fair test is when the test is kept the same trough out the test. This means that all the variables are kept the same. The person in the group doing the exercise was kept the same. The same duration of exercise. Same type of exercise.
Risk assessment:
The risks that could appear in this experiment can include, hypoventilation and to prevent this don’t be silly and breathe fast on purpose just to ruin the experiment data. Uneven ground can also be a risk as the person exercising may fall or trip on the uneven ground. To prevent this the group checked the surface of the ground the exercise was done on.
Materials: • Stop watch/phone
• Test subject (person)
Method:
The group exercised for 2 minutes then record the respiration rate every minute for 5
