Chapter Seventeen: Respectful Interaction: Working with Older Adults
During the two years of studying in the PTA program the big role in the classes was allotted to precautions and safety. My interesting experience this week included to safety precautions adherence and the work with elderly patient with dementia who couldn’t keep his eyes open in therapy hour. The CI and I were assigned to provide the therapy in the room due to scabies infection precautions.
The chapter discusses the specific knowledge with approach to elderly adults’ care and the difficulties healthcare providers may encounter (325). The part on mental changes of aging was particularly interesting to investigate while working in geriatric rehabilitation facility in order “to
